Start with the entrance the movers will use
In Hollywood, a move may begin at a courtyard apartment, a busy street frontage, or a building with a rear loading entrance. Tell us which route reaches your unit and where the truck could stop. Include gates, steps, elevator access, and the distance between the loading position and the front door.
A short walk on a map does not describe the carrying route. Photos of the entrance and any narrow corners help us assess furniture and crew size. If the property is reached from a steep or narrow road, mention that early so truck access can be considered before a date is booked.
Keep city access and building access separate
Hollywood is part of the City of Los Angeles. Check Los Angeles transportation guidance and the posted signs when planning street loading or temporary parking arrangements. Confirm restrictions for the actual date and location rather than relying on a space being empty during an earlier visit.
Your building may also have its own approved moving hours, elevator reservation, or COI requirement. Ask management for the complete instructions and share them with our office. We need the loading and building windows to work together at both pickup and delivery.
A room count is only the beginning
Tell us about the furniture and belongings that do not fit a simple bedroom label: a large desk, shelves of books, exercise equipment, outdoor pieces, or items in a storage area. Photos help identify fragile finishes and oversized furniture. Include extra pickup locations when describing the inventory.
Decide whether you will pack yourself, need focused help with kitchen items, or want full packing. Basic packing assistance is included in the movers’ billed time. A larger packing job needs an agreed scope and materials plan; we discuss that before confirming the moving schedule.
What a small Hollywood move might cost
Two movers and a truck cost $2.50 per billable minute for the first 180 minutes, then $2.15 per additional minute. Three movers: $3.40 then $2.90; four movers: $4.30 then $3.65. No 3-hour minimum. One-minute billing. Fuel included. We confirm rates and scope by text before moving day.
For example, 40 minutes loading, 15 minutes actual driving and 20 minutes unloading make 90 billable minutes. With two movers and a truck, that costs $225. This illustrates billing, not the duration of a particular home or route.
Prepare for a clean handover
Close and label boxes before the crew arrives if you are doing your own packing. Mark items staying behind, keep valuables and documents with you, and arrange for someone to open the destination. Give the crew a simple room-placement plan to make unloading easier.
Our background-checked W-2 team handles loading, unloading, standard furniture assembly, and basic packing help during billed time. Blankets, tape, shrink wrap, stairs, and long carries have no separate surcharge. Call (213) 222-5712 with your Hollywood address, destination, and preferred date. We will discuss the move and confirm availability; farther routes are welcome for individual review.
