How much do local movers cost in Los Angeles?
Movers-LA charges $89 per hour for 2 movers, $129 for 3, or $169 for 4. Our 3-hour minimum comes to $267, $387, or $507 respectively. Fuel is included, with no separate gas fee. Your total depends on billed time, packing, and any specialty work agreed before the move.
What is the minimum booking?
Standard local moves have a 3-hour minimum. After the minimum, we bill in 15-minute increments at your agreed hourly rate. Small loads still use this minimum unless your written quote explicitly provides a different arrangement.
What does the hourly rate include?
The moving crew and truck, loading and unloading, basic packing and unpacking assistance, standard furniture assembly and disassembly, and moving blankets are included. Fuel, tape, shrink wrap, stairs, and carries up to 75 feet have no separate surcharge. Time spent on these tasks is still billed.
Is there a gas or fuel fee?
No. Fuel is included in our hourly rate. The gas fee is $0. This is separate from double drive time, which counts travel between the pickup and delivery addresses as billed time.
Do stairs or a long carry cost extra?
Stairs and carries up to 75 feet have no separate access fee. They can increase the time the move takes. Tell us about longer carries, multiple flights, narrow landings, or restricted loading access so any special arrangements are included in your pricing confirmation.
How are heavy items and pianos priced?
Ordinary heavy furniture up to 300 pounds has no separate heavy-item surcharge, provided it can be moved with the planned crew and normal access. Pianos, safes, unusually heavy pieces, and difficult access need an individual quote. Send photos, dimensions, an estimated weight, and the stair details before booking.
What is double drive time?
For our local household moves, the actual drive between your pickup and delivery addresses is counted twice. A 30-minute drive adds 1 billed hour, in addition to loading and unloading time. We do not add travel from the office to your first address or back from your final address. Ask us to explain the calculation for extra stops.
Can you show a simple price example?
For 2 movers, 3 hours of on-site work plus a 30-minute drive between addresses gives 4 billed hours after doubling that drive. At $89 per hour, that is $356. Fuel is included. Extra packing or specialty work would need to be agreed separately.
Is the calculator result a final quote?
No. It is a planning range based on home size, access, distance, and packing. Its drive-time allowances are not live traffic predictions. We review your inventory and both addresses, then confirm the rate, scope, and any specialty charges by text before the move.
How does packing affect the estimate?
Basic assistance is part of the crew’s billed time. The calculator adds $160–$240 for kitchen and fragile-item packing, or 45–55% of estimated moving labor for full packing. These are planning allowances. We confirm the materials, amount of packing, and schedule with you before booking.
Are boxes and packing materials included?
Moving blankets, tape, and shrink wrap are included for the move. Boxes, bubble wrap, and packing paper are available by arrangement. Tell us what you need so the quantity and price appear in the written packing scope.
Are your movers employees?
Yes. Our movers are W-2 employees who undergo background checks. We do not staff moves with day labor. We plan the crew around your inventory, access, and the help you have requested.
What happens if the crew is late?
If our crew arrives after the arrival window confirmed for your move, you receive 10% off your move. Your confirmation includes that arrival window so you know when to expect the team.
How can I verify a moving license?
Ask for the legal business name and California household mover permit number, then check the current record through the Bureau of Household Goods and Services. Match the business name on your estimate to that record. Contact our office for our current license details before booking.
What insurance do you carry?
We are fully insured with cargo and general liability coverage. Contact our office for current insurance documents and coverage limits. Business insurance and the valuation terms covering your belongings are different; review those terms before the move, particularly for valuable items.
Can you help with a building certificate of insurance (COI)?
Yes. Certificates of insurance are available upon request. Let us know when requesting your quote, and send your property manager’s certificate holder details, required wording, and deadline. We confirm the paperwork and timing before your building’s moving slot.
Can I request same-day or next-day movers?
Yes. Call (213) 222-5712 with your addresses, inventory, and access details. Short-notice availability depends on the crew schedule. A quote request does not reserve a team; wait for a confirmed arrival window before making plans around it.
Can I move on a weekend?
Ask us about your preferred weekend date when requesting a quote. Availability is confirmed for the specific day, and your hourly rate is stated in writing. Share any building restrictions early, especially if your elevator can only be reserved during limited hours.
Do you offer labor-only moves?
You can request loading or unloading help for a rental truck or storage container. Tell us which vehicle or container you are using and who is responsible for transport. We confirm the crew, scope, and labor-only pricing before booking.
Do you move outside Los Angeles?
Our main service area covers Los Angeles, the Valley, the Westside, Glendale, Pasadena, and nearby communities. We also consider farther routes by arrangement. Share both addresses and your inventory so we can confirm whether we can take your move.
How early should I book?
Contact us as soon as you have a likely date, especially when a building requires an elevator reservation. You can request a quote before your date is final. For urgent moves, call so we can check current availability rather than assume a slot is open.
Can I add a storage stop?
Yes, extra stops can be included in the plan. The time needed still counts toward billed moving time. Give us every address and any gate or facility hours so we can confirm the route and drive-time treatment before the move.
What if my move takes more than eight hours?
Tell us about a large inventory or a tight building schedule before booking. If the work may require overtime labor, the applicable rate and conditions need to be discussed in your written pricing confirmation. The calculator does not model an overtime premium.
What should I keep with me?
Keep keys, IDs, medication, documents, jewelry, cash, chargers, and essential personal items with you. Set them apart before loading starts. Tell the team about fragile or valuable belongings and discuss any special protection before moving day.
How do I confirm the booking?
Send your move details or call our office. We confirm the inventory, crew, addresses, access, arrival window, pricing, and any special work with you. Review the payment, cancellation, and rescheduling terms in that confirmation. Submitting the quote form or using the calculator does not book a move.
License verification: California Bureau of Household Goods and Services. Ask our office for the legal name and permit number to match against the current record.
