Give street parking its own place in the plan
Pasadena has its own parking services and moving-vehicle arrangements. Check the city’s current guidance for the truck, address, and dates involved. A reserved curb area, a moving-vehicle permit, and ordinary parking restrictions are not interchangeable. The right process depends on what you need to do at the property.
Share the proposed loading position before booking the crew. If the vehicle must park away from the entrance, describe the walking route and any steps along it. A quick set of photos can show gates, landscaping, narrow paths, or other features that are difficult to explain in a short form.
Older homes and larger furniture need measurements
For a home with tight doorways or a turning staircase, measure the path for the largest pieces before moving day. Include the width of doors and landings, not only the room itself. Tell us about heavy dressers, large tables, delicate finishes, or furniture that has been assembled inside the room.
The crew can handle standard furniture assembly and disassembly during billed time. More unusual pieces need a discussion of their construction and condition. If you are unsure whether something comes apart, send photographs rather than taking it apart without a plan for keeping its components together.
Apartment access has a separate checklist
In an apartment or condo, confirm the service entrance, elevator reservation, and approved moving hours with management. Ask whether a COI is required and send the exact wording to our office. At delivery, make sure someone has the keys and can provide access throughout the agreed window.
Label boxes by their destination rooms. Identify anything to unload first, such as a bed frame or essential kitchen box. Planning room placement beforehand reduces the need to shift furniture again after the truck has been emptied.
Use minute rates to build a sensible budget
Two movers and a truck cost $2.50 per billable minute for the first 180 minutes, then $2.15 per additional minute. Three movers: $3.40 then $2.90; four movers: $4.30 then $3.65. No 3-hour minimum. One-minute billing. Fuel included. We confirm rates and scope by text before moving day.
The calculator uses the work minutes and actual one-way driving minutes you enter. It doubles driving automatically and applies the lower rate only after 180 billable minutes. It illustrates pricing; it does not predict the duration of your move.
Share the details that change the job
List garage items, patio furniture, storage spaces, and extra stops, as well as the main rooms. Tell us about a piano or unusually heavy item so it can be assessed separately. Blankets, tape, shrink wrap, stairs, and long carries have no separate surcharge; the time required still counts.
Our team consists of background-checked W-2 employees, and we do not use day labor. Call (213) 222-5712 with your Pasadena address, destination, home size, and likely moving date. If you are going farther than the usual LA route, include that too. We confirm availability and the scope before a booking, rather than treating an online estimate as a reservation.
