Apartment buildings and garden complexes
Van Nuys has many apartment buildings and garden-style complexes, often with long walks from parking areas to units. Tell us how far the truck will be from your door and whether there are stairs or an elevator.
There is no separate long-carry fee; the time is simply part of the billable minutes.
Houses with easier truck access
Single-family neighborhoods in Van Nuys are mostly flat, with driveways that make truck access simpler. Garages and backyards often hold more than expected, so include them in your inventory.
Freeway access via the 405 and 101 helps for moves across the Valley or over the hill.
Parking the truck
Van Nuys is part of the City of Los Angeles. Check Los Angeles Department of Transportation guidance and the posted signs on your block when planning where the truck will stand. Confirm restrictions for the actual date, not on the basis of an empty curb during an earlier visit.
What a move in Van Nuys costs
Two movers and a truck cost $2.50 per billable minute for the first 180 minutes ($150/hour), then $2.15 per minute ($129/hour). Three movers: $3.40 then $2.90; four movers: $4.30 then $3.65. No 3-hour minimum. One-minute billing. Fuel included. We confirm rates and scope by text before moving day.
Billable minutes = work at the addresses + 2 × actual driving time between them. For example, 40 minutes loading, a 15-minute drive and 20 minutes unloading make 90 billable minutes: $225 with two movers and a truck. This illustrates billing, not the duration of your move.
