A Valley move starts with the approach
In Studio City, the approach to a home can be as important as its size. A level apartment entrance, a sloped driveway, and a house with several exterior steps need different preparation. Tell us where a moving truck could stop and whether there is space to turn. Photos of the approach help us assess the job before the day arrives.
If your address is above the main commercial streets or reached by a narrow road, mention that when asking for a quote. Avoid estimating truck access from the space used by your own car. We need to consider the vehicle, the load, and a practical path for carrying furniture safely.
Separate the inventory from the room count
A two-bedroom apartment with a home office may hold more than a sparsely furnished three-bedroom house. Include desks, bookcases, patio pieces, garage storage, and exercise equipment in the list. Photograph items that are unusually heavy, oversized, fragile, or difficult to take apart.
Tell us which furniture you expect to disassemble yourself and which pieces need the crew’s help. Standard assembly and disassembly are part of billed moving time. Specialty furniture or difficult access should be discussed separately so the crew and equipment fit the actual work.
Plan building and street access
Studio City is within the City of Los Angeles. Use the relevant Los Angeles parking guidance when considering street loading or temporary parking arrangements, and check the signs at the address. A building manager’s permission does not automatically reserve public curb space.
For apartments and condos, confirm elevator access, the loading entrance, and the permitted moving hours. Send any COI instructions and deadlines to our office. If there is a gate, arrange access for both the truck and the crew rather than relying on a resident to happen to be nearby.
Budget for the work and the drive
Rates start at $89/hour for 2 movers and a truck, $129/hour for 3, or $169/hour for 4. A standard local move has a 3-hour minimum. Fuel is included; after the minimum, time is billed in 15-minute increments. We text the agreed pricing and scope before moving day.
A route from Studio City toward Pasadena or the Westside should be planned from the exact addresses. The calculator uses broad distance bands, not live routing. Actual driving time between the pickup and delivery addresses is doubled for billing. Adding a storage stop can change the route, so include it from the start.
Prepare the parts of the home that are easy to miss
Check outdoor storage, closets, parking spaces, and utility areas before finalizing the inventory. Decide what stays behind. Keep keys, documents, medication, and small valuables with you. Label boxes clearly enough that someone unfamiliar with the new home can identify the right room.
Our background-checked W-2 crew handles loading, unloading, and basic packing assistance during billed time. Blankets, tape, shrink wrap, stairs, and carries up to 75 feet have no separate surcharge. Pianos and other specialty items need an individual assessment. Contact Movers-LA at (213) 222-5712 with your preferred date and both addresses. We will discuss availability, the crew, and any access details still to resolve.
