Narrow, winding streets change the plan
Many Hollywood Hills streets are narrow, curving and steep, with little room for a truck to stop or turn around. Before we confirm a crew, tell us the exact address, where a vehicle could safely park, and whether neighbors' driveways need to stay clear. Photos of the street in front of the house are often more useful than a description.
If a full-size truck cannot reach the door, we discuss the options with you before booking rather than on the morning of the move. Our office on Barham Blvd is close to the hills, so we know how much these details affect a moving day.
Stairs, landings and long carries
Hillside homes often have exterior staircases, split levels or a long path between the street and the entrance. Count the steps, note any tight landings and measure the largest furniture. There is no separate stair or long-carry fee, but that time is working time and counts toward billable minutes.
Protect what matters most: pack fragile décor yourself or ask for focused packing help, and tell us about artwork, mirrors or glass tables so they can be wrapped and loaded with care.
Parking the truck
Hollywood Hills is part of the City of Los Angeles. Check Los Angeles Department of Transportation guidance and the posted signs on your block when planning where the truck will stand. Confirm restrictions for the actual date, not on the basis of an empty curb during an earlier visit.
What a move in Hollywood Hills costs
Two movers and a truck cost $2.50 per billable minute for the first 180 minutes ($150/hour), then $2.15 per minute ($129/hour). Three movers: $3.40 then $2.90; four movers: $4.30 then $3.65. No 3-hour minimum. One-minute billing. Fuel included. We confirm rates and scope by text before moving day.
Billable minutes = work at the addresses + 2 × actual driving time between them. For example, 40 minutes loading, a 15-minute drive and 20 minutes unloading make 90 billable minutes: $225 with two movers and a truck. This illustrates billing, not the duration of your move.
